My Blogging Experience

I have thoroughly enjoyed this blogging assignment. Many times I have thought about the prompts, and how I would feel if we just had to do a Canvas discussion post with no images or links, instead of a blog. I can definitely say I would not have enjoyed that nearly as much as I've enjoyed blogging. It is a fun and multimodal way to express thoughts and add personal touches along the way. This idea of students creating a blog is something I will be keeping in mind for my future students as I continue to pursue my teaching career.  The post that I feel is the most professional would be my first blog post . In this specific post I connect the readings in an in depth thoughtful way. I felt the way I spoke on technology benefits and deficits in the classroom was written more “professionally” than any other post I have created. I think this is because I really immersed myself into those readings and had a lot to say, as well as this being my first blog post, I took less risks earlier on...

Water Narratives as a Multimodal Response

I read the book Water Walkers by Carol Trembath for this multi-part assignment. Here is my mini multimodal response to this eco-narrative that I chose to focus on. I decided to make a public service announcement style poster because while reading this book, it had elements of a PSA in the message of the book. Although not in a traditional way, this book urges the care needed to keep our water source healthy for generations to come. I felt the theme of the book was along the lines of doing everything you can to save our water, and to let others know to do the same. That is what made me decide a PSA poster would go well with the book.  While creating this poster, I realized I do not believe I have ever created a PSA. Who is Grace?

Hi! I’m Grace Willer, a junior student at the University of Milwaukee. I am a secondary English major, and can’t wait to teach middle and high school students English! I am very excited to be working with you, and would like to share more about myself with you. I am a big fan of reading, but I wasn’t always that way. I used to struggle to really get into reading, but when I discovered poetry that related to my life, I got into reading and literature. Since then I've loved reading and writing my own poetry.
